The Treasury Solicitor’s Department (TSol)
is the largest provider of legal services across government. Within
TSol the largest division is the Litigation Group which handles
a huge range of public and private law cases for the majority of
departments across Whitehall. The work of the Group encompasses
judicial review challenges, public inquiries and inquests as well
as commercial and personal injury work. The variety and interest
of the work is huge.
Our work conducting the Government’s litigation is often of
the highest possible profile – we handle many cases in the
Supreme Court and Court of Appeal, attracting media interest and
leading to significant developments in the law.
TSol is located in modern offices in Covent Garden, close to the
Royal Courts of Justice and many of our clients.
You will work alongside dedicated people who are passionate about
what they do in a friendly working environment, where knowledge
is shared. You will work directly with clients, building strong
relationships.
We are looking for solicitors and barristers with a real desire
to work in public service litigation. This means that you will have
an interest in public affairs and in the law, and that having demanding
and interesting work counts for more than purely financial rewards.
We are interested in hearing from you if you have a proven record
of good quality litigation experience but we will also consider
candidates with less experience who are able and who have the necessary
motivation to succeed.
We're serious about getting people with the right motivation
and skills to be successful in our business. We will therefore use
a comprehensive selection process comprising an online reasoning
test, a written exercise, and a role pay exercise, as well as the
more traditional interview.
In return for your commitment to TSol, we can offer a varied and
rewarding career in a fast-moving and friendly environment, as well
as excellent training and development opportunities.
